The
Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) met with US Airways
negotiators yesterday, who presented the Committee with a
comprehensive proposal, which is a complete proposal of all
sections of a merged agreement including compensation,
vacation and healthcare benefits.
US Airways Executive Vice
President Steve Johnson and Chief Financial Officer Derek
Kerr along with a team of analysts, labor relations, legal
and other management, provided a three and a half-hour
presentation to the JNC outlining the financial history, the
present state and the future state of the airline.
During the afternoon
break, Johnson and Kerr were confronted by 30-40 Flight
Attendants attending the Brown Bag, Black Out in support of
the JNC negotiators. Johnson and Kerr were compelled to
listen to the concerns and frustrations of those on the line
and their personal stories of financial stress. The JNC
thanks all of those members who understood the significance
of their presence and participated in the solidarity
event.
The JNC and our financial
advisors will evaluate both the financial documents and the
Comprehensive Proposal. We will provide you with more
information after those evaluations are completed.
