Communications Committee

The West Wing was a publication of the MEC and featured interviews and articles regarding
the merger and committee activities.

The Council 66 Communications Committee is looking for flight attendants interested in working on various communication projects including The West Wing news magazine, the West Wing Video Podcast, airport bulletin boards, emails, and recorded messaging.

The Communications Committee is a fun, innovative and progressive committee dedicated to providing a variety of sources in which to keep flight attendants updated on Council 66 MEC and LEC information and events.  Working with this committee will keep you in-the-know on union information while you help your flying friends stay updated as well.

If you enjoy writing, photography, film production, or creative design than the Communications Committee is for you! Commit to as little as one day per month or volunteer for more in-depth involvement - the choice is yours – and the Committee will work around your schedule.

Communication Committee Goals

The triangle approach of the Council 66 MEC Communications Committee begins with a commitment to keep the membership informed in a timely and efficient manner of any information that affects the Flight Attendant profession and career.  Next, the Communications Committee is dedicated toward bringing solid strategic thinking about the role and responsibility of all facets of communication, through innovation and appeal, to enhance the effectiveness of that communication to all of its members.  Finally, the committee must manage all MEC/LEC communication efforts and develop communication strategies for the union while ensuring positive imaging and enhancement of the MEC/LEC's reputation among its members, the media, and other airline leaders.
