LETTER OF AGREEMENT

Between

AMERICA WEST AIRLINES, INC.

And the

FLIGHT ATTENDANTS

In the service of

AMERICA WEST AIRLINES, INC.

As represented by the

ASSOCIATION OF FLIGHT ATTENDANTS

AFL-CIO

Drug & Alcohol Testing

THIS LETTER OF AGREEMENT is made and entered into in accordance with the provisions of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by and between America West Airlines, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), and the FLIGHT ATTENDANTS in the service of AMERICA WEST AIRLINES, INC., as represented by the ASSOCIATION OF FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, AFL-CIO (hereinafter referred to as the "Union").

A.     A Flight Attendant participating in a Drug or Alcohol Test during the duty period will be considered to be "on duty" during the Drug or Alcohol Test.

B.     A Flight Attendant participating in a Drug or Alcohol Test prior to or after the completion of a duty period will not be considered to be "on duty" during the Drug or Alcohol Test. Such Flight Attendant will not be considered to be in her/his rest period.

1.     A Flight Attendant participating in a Drug or Alcohol Test after the completion of her/his duty period will be released into her/his rest period fifteen (15) minutes after the completion of the test. The Flight Attendant whose rest period would be reduced below the minimum because of such a test will be required to call Crew Resources with her/his adjusted rest period commencement time.

2.     A Flight Attendant will not be required to participate in a random drug or alcohol test prior to the commencement of a duty period, except as provided in Section 27, General, Subsections O. and P.
