Section 32 - Retirement & Insurance

A. MEDICAL AND DENTAL

     

  1. The Medical and Dental Plan benefits in effect on the Date of Signing will remain in effect for the duration of the Agreement and shall not be diminished without the agreement of the Union.

     

  2. Flight Attendants who reasonably believe they may have been exposed to hepatitis while in the service of the Company will receive reimbursement for the screening and vaccination. This shall be done immediately at the Company Clinic. If the Company Clinic does not have the treatment available the Flight Attendant will be sent to another treatment facility.

B. FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT

So long as the benefit is permissible under the tax code, the Flexible Spending Account in effect on the Date of Signing shall remain in effect during the Agreement and shall not be diminished.

C. SHORT AND LONG TERM DISABILITY

The Short and Long Term Disability Plan benefits in effect on the Date of Signing shall remain in effect during the Agreement and shall not be diminished without the agreement of the Union.

D. LIFE INSURANCE AND AD&D

The Life Insurance and AD&D Plan benefits in effect on the Date of Signing shall remain in effect during the Agreement and shall not be diminished without the agreement of the Union.

E. VISION CARE

The Vision Plan benefits in effect on the Date of Signing shall remain in effect during the Agreement and shall not be diminished without the agreement of the Union.

F. 401(k)

  1.  

  2. The Company shall maintain the 401(k) Plan in effect on the Date of Signing during the term of the Agreement and the Plan shall not be reduced without the agreement of the Union.

     

  3. Both the salary deferral contribution and the matching contribution shall be transferred to the Trustee within the time period required by law. The matching contribution shall be no less than that made for any other employee group.

G. GENERAL

     

  1. The definition of a Year of Service for all purposes shall be one thousand (1,000) hours. For the purposes of this calculation one (1) credit hour shall equal two (2) Year of Service hours.

  3. The Company shall count all years when a Flight Attendant is on a Union Leave of Absence as a Year of Service for purposes of vesting and such an absence shall not constitute a break in service. The Plan shall be amended to reflect this change.

     

  4. Prior to changing an insurance provider(s) the Company will notify the Union. The Union may request, and be granted, a meeting to discuss the change. The Company shall provide the Union with the Summary Plan Description and a copy of the actual Plan.

     

  5. In the event the cost of providing the medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance plan benefits for Flight Attendants increases after one (1) year from the effective date of this Agreement, the Company shall absorb any increase up to ten (10) percent per year thereafter. For increases above ten (10) percent, the Company may pass through to the Flight Attendants up to twenty-five (25) percent of the amount over the ten (10) percent in the second year of the Agreement and fifty (50) percent of the amount over ten (10) percent thereafter. However, in no event shall Flight Attendants be required to contribute more for such coverages than any other employee group. The Company shall meet with the Union and fully document the need for such cost increases prior to implementation.

     

  6. In the event the Company wishes to make substantial changes to any of the insurance plan benefits applicable to Flight Attendants, the Company will provide the Union with reasonable advance notice of such proposed changes and will give every consideration to any Union recommendations or other input concerning changes or other matters relating to insurance coverage.
